| Biography
Luca D’Attoma was born in 1964 in Borgo S. Lorenzo (Florence). In 1985 he completed his studies at the School for Oenology and Wine Making in Conegliano Veneto with a dissertation on fermentation blocks and reactivation with yeast.
Once he had finished military service, he served an apprenticeship at Azienda Agricola Bellavista in Franciacorta and subsequently went on to work with Sartorius Gmbh for whom he carried out a project on microfiltration and microbiological analysis.
From 1989 to 1992 he worked with Fattoria di Albola in Chianti Classico, Fattoria Ponte a Rondolino in San Gimignano and Fattoria Montellori in Chianti.
In 1991 he embarked on his career as a freelance wine consultant working, amongst others in Tuscany, with the Azienda Agricola Le Macchiole in Bogheri and Tua Rita in Suvereto.
In 1999 he set up his own company, W.E.C., Wine Evolution Consulting, which comprises a pool of experts in the wine industry.
Services include consultancy for design and management, mechanical and manual, of vines, design and set up of wine cellars, complete wine making process, quality control, wine tasting including professional courses.
On the premises, designed by the Florentine architect Luca Nardi, is a stylish, fully-equipped tasting room where Luca organises meetings for professionals and friends as well as corporate wine-tasting and team-building events.
